The pain of being ordinary

“Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible.”

-Cherie Carter-Scott

How many times in our lives have we wished for more? How many times we have wished we were better?Everyday morning we pick up the morning edition of our favourite newspaper,we see a boy/girl of our age do marvels. Some one doing a Ph.D. at a very young age, some one winning Nobles;others are famous actors, players and musicians.

And we ask ourselves:Why am I ordinary? Why am i not like them. Why have i not done my country proud? And though we do not say it,deep inside we are in a consistent quest ;constantly looking for an answer.

Is there a greater pain than being ordinary?Nobody looks at you .You are a ghost.Nobody notices you.Nobody cares.

I remember a similar reference in the movie American Beauty.Rather than dwelling upon our “ordinarily”,let me focus on why exactly we are ordinary. What does the word even mean?I have dwelled upon the question myself for years.I do not yet claim to have an answer but i will present to you what ever i could understand.

It means that out there is an enormous bunch of infinite potential, who do not really know what they are capable of.They have been taught by parents, teachers, society to take the easy-go in life. They have been taught that quitting is much easier than walking on a path which is full of thorns, better let some one carry you. They are taught that it is better to walk on a well known path, than discover your own.

It is this years of emotional crap that leads to the social divide.Always dwelling on what is so impossible for us to do makes our psychology negative to such an extent that we attract all negative things in life. The Soul-Of-The-Universe feeds us those outputs which we desire, which are almost all negative by that point of time.

Have you ever noticed that when you say that you can do something, some thing that is different, how things suddenly become tough,as if some one is testing you.Have you also noticed that when you carry on even after the enormous resistance suddenly you seem to have become wiser, smarter, you feel good inside;deep in your soul.

So we Ordinary people vs Extraordinary are like a waterfall vs dam, water always flows but is of no use till we tap it and use the inner force inside us for some greater purpose.

It is all about realising the true nature of your inner self. The moment you realize your inner potential and start focussing on your strength you are transformed. That moment on-You have entered a new world,a new Life.

So actually it is not Ordinary vs Extraordinary ;it is actually Discovered vs Un discovered. Those who dare vs those who are afraid. All life can change in that one moment when you decide you want to fight back. You want to transform.Till that moment comes.Don’t lose faith .Keep trying.I am trying too with the faith that soon enough i will have my “The Moment”.I will know when it comes,my heart shall ring a bell.:)
